One of the Secrets of the Kingdom that Jesus Gave to Us
This statement will naturally offend some of the churchgoing community, but doctrinal assertions rarely address our deepest needs. Truth claims undoubtedly have their place, but humanity desperately longs for something more. Multitudes want to lay hold of the substantial.
Providentially, the Heavenly Father comprehended centuries ago that the Word needed flesh. The Son of Man became the ultimate depiction of what humanity endeavored to encounter.
Jesus is God but willingly took on human flesh. Although indisputably divine, His humanity held a significant function. One of the primary reasons that Jesus descended into the lower realms was so that He might reveal what a man rightly related to God looks like.
Disclosing an intimate relationship with the Heavenly Father, Jesus affirmed, "The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing” (John 5:19a). Spiritual communion forged a heightened sense of identity and purpose.
On countless occasions, Jesus ascended the mountain and communed with one that He loved. Through extended fellowship and prayer, the Son of Man was able to perceive what the Heavenly Father was up to. Whatever Abba revealed was what enveloped His heart.
What Jesus modeled is what all men and women are being invited to encounter. His engagement with the Heavenly Father shows us the pathway into a better world.
It is time to walk the trail that has been clearly laid before us. There shouldn't be any more confusion about which way to go.
