This Gospel is Rooted in the Overwhelming Power of God
I spent years deliberately avoiding signs and wonders. Although I accepted their biblical legitimacy, I thought they were mostly frivolous. I saw them as the concerns of weak-minded people — parlor tricks for those devoid of sound doctrine.
Nevertheless, God challenged me in these assumptions. Through prayer and spiritual encounter, I began to perceive new realities.
Within time, I began to call out healings in church services and see people encounter breakthrough. When I went on a mission trip to Argentina, I asked a hurting man pull off his arm brace, and he was healed in front of four hundred people. Multitudes were saved after that inexplicable event.
In my own congregation—World Revival Church, I've preached about the power of God and encountered the magnificence of grace. I remember one occasion when a man’s back and shoulders were radically impacted. As I prayed, his whole upper body began to shift— standing straight for the first time in years.
One young unbeliever came forward for prayer, not because of what I said, but because of what he witnessed. I was privileged to pray for Him as he opened his life up to Jesus.
It took me several years, but I now realize that signs and wonders don't follow the preaching of the gospel— they accompany it.
Here is what Jesus said in the Gospel of Mark: "These signs will accompany those who believe . . . Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it" (Mark 16:17, 20).
According to this pivotal passage, works of power should naturally accompany the proclamation of good news. It is a natural expression of believers – not just in the First Century – but within every century.
Even today, signs and wonders should be an active part of the gospel.
So, I want to invite to step into the reality of glory. I believe that God is asking you to bring a heightened declaration of the gospel in the earth. It is not just based on what is said or heard. This gospel is rooted in the overwhelming power of God.
